Veterinarians that work with pigs make important and global contribution to society by ensuring adequate and safe food is available, while still maintaining the health and welfare of pigs. In addition, pig veterinarians are extending the scope and delivery of veterinary science by becoming involved in training programs for pig producers, quality assurance programs, and establishing and managing production systems and global disease prevention.

This years Australian Pig Veterinarians Virtual Conference brings together the profession with 7 hours of high quality CPD and delves into the questions encountered in the veterinary practice and industry today. It is an event not to be missed and offers a flexible and on-demand virtual format.

Prof Sam Abraham is an Associate Professor in Microbiology at Murdoch university with research in antimicrobial resistance in animals. He leads the Antimicrobial and Infectious Diseases (AMRID) Laboratory, a next-generation research facility based at Murdoch University designed to modernise and innovate approaches to the surveillance and management of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and infectious diseases in animals. His research investigate the movement of drug resistant bacteria between humans, animals and the environment
